Conde Nast on the Verge of Signing iPad App Subscription Deal with Apple

Conde Nast is another magazine publisher which is close to signing an iPad subscription deal with Apple. If successful then eight of its magazines will be rolling app subscriptions, according to the New York Post.

The deal means Condé will actually beat rival Hearst in the iPad subscription derby. Hearst said yesterday it was going to start selling subscriptions and single copies of Esquire, O: the Oprah Magazine and Popular Mechanics via the iPad effective with the July issues, available sometime next month.

It was also learn that Conde Nast is reportedly close to signing an iPad subscription deal with Apple that will see eight of its magazines utilize in-app subscriptions, according to the New York Post.

Here we can see a huge cut in prices with single issues costing $1.99, down from $4.99, and annual subscriptions costing $19.99.
