Mac users were happy with the news of Apple releasing Mac OS X 10.7.3. However, the joy was short lived because of some bugs.

Mac OS X disappointed some users due to its bugs surrounding CUI issues and the crashing of applications. Apple is investigating the issues with test groups. It has decided to remove the standard 10.7.3 update from its servers and provide users with the ability to only download the combined installation. This combo installer is not having any problems with the CUI and there are no app crashing errors.

Apple removed its online download page for the standard (client) 10.7.3 download. Now website forwards to the combo download link. In addition, clicking a saved link that directly downloads the standard 10.7.3 installation puts up an Apple 404 page.

Apple has also removed the ability to download 10.7.3 (client) directly from software update. Now it is providing it with the combo installation to the users. This combined installer is typically a few hundred megabytes larger than the standard installer. However, the positive point is that users will not face the annoying bugs. This new build is reportedly showing up as “11D50b” instead of the client’s “11D50? labeling.

Users who have installed the client 10.7.3 download will need to manually download the combined update from Apple’s website.

Samsung is at it again. Still focussing of ridiculing Apple rather than promoting their product or achievement.

Their last advertisement was supposed to highlight the fact about their association with Super Bowl but they ended up ridiculing Apple Fanboys who would not mind standing in a queue to buy an iPhone 4S. A teaser of this advertisement was released last week.

This time, once agin they have focussed on ridiculing Apple. Samsung’s latest advertisement aired during a break in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl XLVI on 5 February 2012. The 90-second spot, was set to the British band, The Darkness’ 2003 hit “I Believe in a Thing Called Love,”. It depicted Apple users being tired of waiting for “the next best thing” and decided to convert to the new Samsung product. If an estimate provided by the financial blog 24/7 Wall Street is to be believed, this advertisement estimated out to cost roughly $10.5 million in airtime alone. It included cameos from The Darkness lead singer Justin Hawkins and Chicago Bears’ standout linebacker Brian Urlacher. This commercial reminds of various previous commercials that ridiculed Apple fanboys for standing in a queue.

This is the video of that advertisement.

This ad started with the typical hipsters waiting in line for what is assumed to be the launch of the new iOS device. They are complaining and whining about how long they have been waiting when one of them spots a Galaxy Note and ends up asking “what is that?!” Here comes the surprising twist (compared to older advertisements) and soon everyone is using the Galaxy Note to make movies, take pictures, and even grab an autograph from Urlacher. The “barista” character from previous ads in the campaign also appeared in this ad saying, “well that was over the top,” at the end of the commercial.

The Galaxy Note is Samsung’s new device, larger than a phone but smaller than a table. It sports a 5.3 inch screen, a 1280×800 pixel screen, a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 16 GB of internal memory, an SD card reader, and 4G-connectivity.

Tell us your opinion about this commercial.

Last month, Apple had released iBooks, giving school students, easy access to textbooks on their iPad. Students all over United States must be thankful to Apple.

Now, iBooks is all set add more ease to academics. Apple has issued an update to iBooks 2 iOS application. The new update brings the software to Version 2.0.1. This update carries a fix for a major bug that prevented iBooks Textbooks from opening within the application.

Apple issued the following statement in its press release:

We’re aware of a small number of iBooks 2 users having issues with the playback of the introduction movies when opening iBooks textbooks. It will be fixed soon in an upcoming software update.

The problem started at the intro movie inside the textbooks and caused a failure to play. This left plenty of users unable to view the contents of the books. Kudos to Apple for quickly addressing this issue and bringing improved stability and software enhancements to iBooks 2.

The updated version of iBooks 2 is available here.

Ever since New York Times (NYT) has accused Apple and its business partner Foxconn of making workers in Chinese factories for long hours and under inhuman conditions, Apple desperately needs an image-makeover, not only in China, but in the international market.

CBS has decided to probe the relation between Apple and Foxconn. Now Apple should have some reason to cheer up a voice in the favor of Apple has been raised, in China itself. Chinese labour activist Li Quiang said that Apple was doing a better job auditing its suppliers than its competitors.

Quiang said that Apple was doing a much better job of monitoring factory conditions than Dell, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Nokia and many others. He said that after comparing Apple with many other companies like Nokia, he observed that in other companies, the working conditions were worse than Apple.

However, Qiang said that the conditions in supply chain were not the responsibility of the suppliers themselves or the Chinese government. Ultimately, Apple would have to bear the responsibility, and thus, it should spend some of its record profits in improving the conditions for workers.

Qiang is the founder of China Labor Watch, the leading advocacy group. This group had helped NYT investigate the working conditions in Chinese electronics factories. Investigation once complete, re-ignited the debate about conditions.

While talking to Laptop magazine, Quiang said, “Although I know that the iPhone 4 is made at sweat shop factories in China, I still think that this is the only choice, because Apple is actually one of the best.”

Qiang praised Apple for disclosing the problems it has uncovered at it suppliers despite the reports of Apple being highly serious and disturbing. He noted that competitors like HP and Dell had not been anywhere near as forthcoming.

Foxconn has been famous (or infamous) for the high number of suicides committed by its employees. However, despite this fact, Quiang showered praises on Foxconn. He said that Foxconn was actually one of the best places to work in the supply chain. Despite long hours, grueling deadlines and abusive management, Quiang praised Foxconn on the grounds that pay and benefits were higher. He pointed out that Foxconn workers received health and safety training. They were properly equipped, and the plants were checked daily for safety compliance, according to a China Labor Watch report (“Tragedies of Globalization: The Truth Behind Electronics Sweatshops”).

“Foxconn is not good,” Qiang told NYT. “But if we compare all industries, electronics, textile, toys, Foxconn is one of the best.”

Comparing Foxconn with Compal Electronics, which have poorer safety practices, Quiang said:

At Compal Electronics, a huge supplier that manufactures notebooks for Dell, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba, workers reported that the company does not provide face masks or ear plugs, despite loud noises. Apparently, there was not even a first-aid kit available. “In the event of an injury,” Labor Watch writes, “the workshop manager will give the injured worker some cotton to cover up their injury.”

Quiang argued that despite doing more than its competitors to give a much better working environment to workers, Apple was ultimately responsible for the conditions at suppliers’ factories.

Reading about the abusive managers, poor safety conditions, filthy living accommodations, long hours, and low wages, it’s tempting to blame the suppliers who run the factories or government authorities who are charged with enforcing China’s 2008 Labor Law. According to Li, China’s Bureau of Labor is limited in its abilities by local governments that receive tax revenue from the factories, but don’t have to provide benefits to what they classify migrant workers. The suppliers, he says, are also limited, because of price and production pressures from Apple and the other OEMs.

“If Apple still lowers their prices and doesn’t give enough profits to the factories, then the factories don’t have money to improve the labor conditions,” he said. “So it’s always the problem of Apple and not the problem of factories. We can see that Apple is trying to put all the responsibility on the factories by releasing the supplier factory list and trying to put the factories into the focus of the immediate public, but we think that Apple should do more to make a positive change in the whole system.”

Though he believes that Apple has done a better job of inspecting its factories than others, Li maintains that the public is right to put more pressure on Tim Cook’s company than its competitors who have the same problems. Because Apple makes the most profit, he reasons, it also bears the most responsibility for fixing a broken system. He maintains that it wouldn’t take more than 2-percent of Apple’s profits to dramatically improve workers’ lives in China while companies such as Dell and HP would have to spend more.

“Although we think Apple is among the best in terms of auditing, we still think that Apple can do more because it is the most profitable company in the world,” he said. “As soon as Apple is willing to give a small percentage of its profits, the workers can benefit a lot. But Apple is not willing to do that.”

If the statement from Quiang in the favor of Apple is true, then one should assume that all the criticism of Apple regarding eh condition of workers was a propaganda of Anti-Apple lobbyists. Or perhaps, media wanted to sensationalize something. If critics of Apple were genuinely concerned about the well-being of workers, they would have criticized Apple’s competitors with Apple or before Apple as the conditions of workers in the factories of Apple’s competitors are far worse.

Apple faced an injunction that banned the sales of various iPhones in Germany. Apple defeated Motorola by appealing against the injunction and getting it quashed, same day.

However, Motorola still has one victory against Apple to its credit. On Friday, 3 February 2011, Motorola won an injunction against Apple’s iCloud.

The Mannheim Regional Court in Germany ruled that the Push email service in iCloud and MobileMe infringed on Motorola Mobility patents. As a result, the court and awarded Motorola, an injunction blocking Apple from using the iCloud feature. The court also ruled a ban on the devices that took advantage of the feature. Now, Apple would have to stop offering push email service through iCloud and MobileMe in Germany.

Push email allows users to know that they have new messages without requiring them to open the Mail app on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Without this feature, users would have to set Mail to check for new messages on a set schedule, or launch the app to let messages download.

Florian Muller of FOSS Patents commented on the ruling:

“Today’s judgment is appealable (which is why it’s only ‘preliminarily enforceable’), and it’s a given that Apple will appeal this to the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court. The term ‘preliminary enforceable’ means that Motorola can seek its enforcement anytime now if it posts a €100 million bond, but if an appeals court overturns the ruling, Motorola will be liable for premature enforcement of an improperly-granted injunction.”

At the time of this news-report being written, the value of €1(one Euro) in US dollars in $1.31.

Apple’s legal team is planning to appeal against this injunction.

What do you think would happen between Apple and Motorola? Post your comments.

Recently, the sales of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 had been banned in Germany due to a lawsuit by Motorola that accused Apple of violating Motorola’s wireless communication patents. iPad 2 with 3G support was also banned.

However, there is a good news for Apple Fanboys. Apple has managed to get that injunction suspended and now iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad 2 with 3G support can sell again in Germany. Apple pulled the devices from its online store in Germany earlier in the day on 3 February 2012 to comply with the injunction. The banned was quashed same day.

Apple told SlashGear that it appealed the injunction because Motorola repeatedly refused to license this patent to Apple on reasonable terms. This happened despite the fact that the patent had been declared as an industry standard patent seven years ago.

The patent in question relates to 3G/UTMS technology and has been deemed critical to the industry.

Motorola had won the injunction against Apple in December over claims that iOS devices were using patented 3G wireless data-related technology without proper licensing. The two companies have been fighting for months over patent infringement allegations.

Why do you watch TV? You watch something that you like it. You like a movie or a TV show because you know about it or you have been recommended by someone to watch that show.

There maybe similar movies and TV shows that may suit your taste but you do not watch them because you have never heard of them.

What is something that new about all TV shows would recommend you TV shows and movies on the basis of your taste?

There has been a silent update to your Apple TV. This update has introduced the features of Genius recommendations for movies and TV shows to the Apple TV. Your little black box will recommend you movies or TV shows on the basis of the movies and TV shows that you watch. No user action is required to access this new feature, as it is not part of a device firmware update. Instead, Apple has updated its own servers that would send this information to the Apple TV from its iTunes Store equivalent.

This new feature appears identical to the Genius recommendation features already present in iTunes on the Mac and iOS devices. With access to your library and purchase history, the Apple TV can now recommend TV or movie content based on what you have watched before.

Suppose you like to watch fantasy and science-fiction TV shows like Smallville and Supernatural and use Apple TV to watch their old and new episodes. Thus, on the basis of these shows, Apple TV might recommend you TV shows and movies like Dark Angel and Star Wars.

Are you happy about this new update of Apple? Share your opinion about this new update.

Are you listening to music from some artist like Snoop Dogg (wonder why he spells his name like this)? Surprised that the song does not have any offensive word? This is happening due to the bug in iTunes Match.

Some online reports have publicized a bug in iTunes Match that matches explicit tracks to clean versions (all offensive and derogatory words like the “F” word censored). The problem is with Apple’s iTunes Match software. Sometimes this software is unable to distinguish clean versions of a track from explicit versions due to slight differences. Apple is working to fix this issue.

Eddy Cue, the Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services in Apple received an email about the issue a couple of weeks ago. The mail-sender received a response from one of Eddy Cue’s engineers. The engineer said Apple was investigating the issue and working on a fix. Apple has no interim workaround for users of the iTunes Match service, the email elaborated.

For those who do know about iTunes Match, it is Apple’s $25 a year iTunes service that matches ripped tracks to iTunes quality and keeps everything in the cloud, saving the space of your Mac or iPod or any iDevice as you would not need to keep those songs in your device.

Some people may find the “beep” sound while invoking Siri irritating.

You maybe imaginative. You might be wishing to create a custom sound that would be heard when you invoke Siri.

Are you waiting for a jailbreak app that would enable you to do that? That app may come someday. But why wait? You have this procedure to easily create your own custom Siri audio introduction. Just follow it and you create custom audio introduction in your personal assistant inside your iPhone 4S.

Watch this video, that shows you the procedure:

STEP 1 - Create a custom 1-2 second audio file and name it jbl_begin with a .caf extension. The video features more details.

STEP 2 - SSH into your device. Explore the System/Library/Audio/UISounds/ directory. Rename the jbl_begin.caf file to jbl_begin.caf.old to save it off.

STEP 3 - After that, copy your custom jbl_begin.caf file to the System/Library/Audio/UISounds/ directory. Invoke Siri to test out the change. You should hear your custom sound instead of the standard Siri beep.

In this tutorial, QuickTime and iTunes have been used to create custom jbl_begin.caf file. To create custom jbl_begin.caf file, you can use other options such as GarageBand.

Did you find this tutorial helpful? Post your comments.

After explaining the procedures to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on Mac OS X and Windows, we are back with the procedure of jailbreaking these two popular iDevices on Linux.

Since there is no iTunes for Linux, this procedure may sound tricky and difficult but it is very simple to apply. You can easily apply the Absinthe untethered jailbreak on Linux.

We have video and procedure to explain it easily.

Follow this procedure to apply untethered jailbreak on Linux.

First you need to have limobiledevice on your Linux distribution. This is the procedure to install it. This procedure has been tried on Ubantu:

STEP 1 - In the terminal type: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmcenery/ppa

STEP 2 - Accept any warnings that appear. Then click Install.

STEP 3 - Type: sudo apt-get update

STEP 4 - Visit the Ubuntu software center. Search for libimobiledevice, and install libimobiledevice-utils. It might then ask you to reboot. Do so! After you reboot, Linux should recognize your device.

We want to remind our readers that this procedure could differ depending on your Linux distribution, For other distributions of Linux or more information, visit http://www.libimobiledevice.org/

Now that you you know how to install libimobiledevice in your Linux, we proceed to explain how to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 in your device.

STEP 1 - Install the libimobiledevice package on your Linux distribution. This will enable Linux to talk to your iPad 2, iPhone 4S, and other iOS devices.

STEP 2 - Download Absinthe v0.3 and unpack it on your desktop.

STEP 3 - If you are on a x86 machine, double click absinthe.x86. If you are on a 64-bit machine (likely) double click absinthe.x86_64 to run Absinthe.

STEP 4 - Ensure that your device is powered on. Absinthe should detect your device. Click on Jailbreak.

STEP 5 - Let Absinthe finish the entire process. User intervention is not needed until the process is over. Once the loading bar is complete, you will find the Absinthe icon on your iDevice’s Home screen. Launch it to complete the jailbreak.

STEP 6 - Reboot your device. Now, you should see the Cydia icon on your desktop. The jailbreak procedure is complete.

You thought the procedure would be difficult. But after reading this, you saw that it is easy. What is your feedback on this procedure? Which Linux distribution you have? How helpful this procedure was? Tell us through your valuable comments.

Now apart from being the largest tablet maker, Apple has also become the third largest mobile phone manufacturer in this world. Among smartphone manufacturers, Apple is already number one.

iPhone and iPad also have their shares of being a favorite in the corporate world.

The sales of 37 million iPhones during the last three months made it the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), a marketing research firm, the overwhelming popularity of the iPhone 4S played a key-role in pushing Apple past LG and into the number three spot on the list of top mobile phone manufacturers. That included feature phones. The present context is about entire 2011, not just fourth quarter.

Yesterday we reported that an apparent bug had appeared in Apple’s iMessage service that allowed iMessages to be sent to a stolen iPhone. The whole world could read the iMessages of the person whose iPhone had the bug.

Earlier this week, Gizmodo had reported that a customer who went to Apple’s Genius Bar began receiving iMessages to and from the Genius serviced her iPhone.

One possible theory of iMessages being leaked for the world to see was that the Genius took his personal SIM card and inserted it into the customer’s iPhone as part of a series of unofficial and unapproved diagnostic efforts to fix the customer’s phone. An Apple representative explained to The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple that the issue in the Gizmodo story was not a bug, but instead was the result of the Genius not following protocol.

“This was an extremely rare situation that occurred when a retail employee did not follow the correct service procedure and used their personal SIM to help a customer who did not have a working SIM,” Apple representative Natalie Harrison told The Loop. “This resulted in a temporary situation that has since been resolved by the employee.”

The act of installing an employee’s personal SIM card into a customer’s iPhone is not an approved procedure at the Genius Bar.

Gizmodo reported that a customer was having difficulties with her iPhone 4 and took it to the Genius Bar to be serviced. When it was returned, the phone was in perfect working order. However, one storage thing happened. The iPhone was displaying every incoming and outgoing iMessage meant for the Genius. This is because, Genius had inserted his personal SIM card into the iPhone during the diagnostic process, it registered with Apple’s iMessage servers and began sending all of his messages to the customer’s phone.

A number of customers have reported similar iMessage issues. Some say that messages continue to go to a stolen iPhone after a remote wipe and a SIM card deactivation. Apple may explain the solution to be “toggle iMessage on and off” in the Settings app. This is something impossible to perform remotely on a stolen phone.

Yesterday we reported about an online petition urging Apple to improve the working conditions of workers in China. This week has ended and at the time of this news report being written, the online petition has garnered 162,000 signatures.

This petition came in the wake of an expose from New York Times (NYT) that exposed and highlighted the pathetic working conditions China in which the employees of Apple and its business partner Foxconn had to work in. After this report, CBS decided to probe the relationship between Apple and Foxconn.

The petition, at Change.org, also highlights the alleged poor working conditions at factories operated by Chinese companies that have contracts to build iPhones, iPads, and other popular products from Apple.

Mark Shields, a communications consultant in Washington DC, started this petition after hearing about working conditions in the Chinese factories on This American Life, a radio show.

The long story published by NYT alleged that there were unsafe and unhygienic conditions where the workers had to work and the workers had to work for long hours.

The radio report discussed repetitive motion injuries and other problems at Apple partner factories. Shields wrote in his petition:

“We ask that Apple release a worker protection strategy for new product releases, which are the instances when injuries and suicides typically spike because of the incredible pressure to meet quotas timed to releases”.

Apple has not responded to the reports so far. CEO Tim Cook says that he was “outraged” to see what NYT published. He promised to “dig deeper” and look into the matter. Cook maintained that Apple cared about its employees, all over the world.

The successful launch of iPhone 4S made Apple hit the sky and climb new heights. Since then, people have been waiting for the new iPhone that Apple Fanboys have name as iPhone 5.

Some people want iPhone 5 as they are convinced that it would be more advanced iPhone. Some people want it because they are unhappy with the battery issues of iPhone 4S.

With so much anticipation and eagerness seen in Apple fanboys, it is no surprise that online portals and publications would report and circulate rumors regarding iPhone 5 to increase their readership. No matter whether Apple actually announces such things.

After spreading rumors about Apple’s possible TV Set and iPad 3, DigiTimes has turned its attention to iPhone 5. DigiTimes has reported that Apple is planning to return to its summer launch schedule and is likely to unveil iPhone 5 during Worldwide Developer Conference in June. To support their claim, DigiTimes cited Daiwa Securities analyst when it first appeared in a Chinese language newspaper, commercial times.

The report noted that the use of glass-to-glass touch penal technology would continue in iPhone 5. The report also mention iPhone 5 to have a metallic covering, made of aluminum.

This time, Macotakara has joined the chorus of online news reports announcing that Apple will hold “unusual” media event in February 2012. Some people say Macotakara had started this rumor.

It has been confirmed now that this rumor is not true and Apple has no plans to hold such event in February.

Rumor said that the February event would not be related to any Apple product and iPad 3 would be revealed in an event of March 2012. Loop Insight has rubbished this rumor.

There is decorum that one should not insult and ridicule those who are dead. This decorum is at least followed in the case of those people who did not make news for wrong reasons. However, some people seeking cheap publicity stoop to any level and ridicule anyone to secure their fifteen-seconds of fame.

There is a video mocking Steve Jobs, and showing him using tablets that can be seen as competitors to iPad in heaven.

Steve Jobs (comedian impersonating Steve Jobs), shown to be sporting a halo and wings, extols the virtues of an Android tablet in a Taiwanese ad that has been noticed in the US for its disrespectful treatment of the late Apple cofounder.

The 20-second ad it YouTube this week. This ad features Taiwanese comedian and impersonator Ah-Ken. Clad in Jobs’s trademark black turtleneck and jeans, Ken says, “Thank God I get to play with other tablets,” and takes out Action Electronics’s Android-based ActionPad tablet PC and multi-language dictionary. The ad does not mention Jobs by name.

Apple representatives could not be reached for comment about the ad.

Steve Jobs passed away on 5 October 2011. He used to think that Google’s Android mobile operating system was a ripoff of Apple’s iOS, which is used in the iPhone and iPad. In the officially authorized biography of Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson, Jobs was quoted as saying he effectively “declared war” on Android and that he felt “personally betrayed” by Google.

Apple has urged developers not use the images of white iPhone in their marketing and publicity campaigns for apps or anything.

This sounds bizarre that Apple has problem with the color of iPhone skin in third party marketing materials. Some prominent apps, like Flipboard and Path, use the white iPhone on their sites.

Apple has clear guidelines on the use of iOS device images. There is no specific rule about using only black device images. However, there is a requirement that only approved images can be used and either coincidentally or intentionally, all of the iPhone images approved by Apple are black.

In verbal communications with a blogger, Apple said that they were reserving use of the white iPhone for their own marketing materials.

Dalton Caldwell, the CEO of App.net, works with thousands of developers to help them market their apps. He has said that he has not heard a word about this new rule of Apple.

Are you eagerly waiting for iPhone 5? So eagerly, that you want to pay attention to each and every rumor surrounding iPhone 5 even when Apple is yet to announce and official name for it.

You better stop following iPhone 5 rumors because your eagerness can make you lose your time, money, identity (or anything that might be precious to you) in a scam that we are warning you about.

Scammers never miss an opportunity to scam. Websites like Facebook, Twitter, online forums and email have been hotbeds for them to run their scams. The online portals have long been subject to disgusting “test & keep new iPhone/iPad/whatever” spam. Now, the iPhone 5 scam has taken to SMS. Not only are scammers wasting your time and attention, they are now also wasting your text message totals.

A couple of our Twitter followers received identical scam spam yesterday:

“Apple is looking for iPhone 5 testers! The first 1000 users that go to [scam web address] and enter [scam code] will get to test & keep a new iPhone 5.”

This SMS is fake. You will not get iPhone 5. We urge our readers to ignore this SMS and not to do anything that SMS requests. Have you received such messages? Tell us in comments.

Samsung maybe happy, thinking about having the last laugh in Germany. However, this has not stopped Apple from launching an all-out assault in Australia, where its ongoing patent battle against Samsung is still going strong.

As The Australian reports, Apple has expanded its complaint to 278 claims, covering 72 patents and a full ten products. These products include some smartphones and tablets that Apple is yet to launch in Australia.

Comparing current lawsuit with original lawsuit, only three Apple patents, concerning the Galaxy Tab 10.1 were involved. Apple had won an injunction against Samsung’s tablet last year, but that was overturned in November 2011. Due to that, Galaxy Tab became available in Australia after 9 December 2011, one week after the ban was lifted because Apple had obtained a one-week stay order on the implementation of ban lifting the verdict. After Apple’s appeal for more extension was shot down, now Apple is making better preparations.

Samsung’s lead lawyer Neil Young said that Samsung had received short notice of its rival’s latest suit. This meant that would not be be able to file a defense until mid-May.

Apple and Samsung have sued each other in various countries and they have won and lost in may cases. However, so far, Apple’s share of victories is bigger than Samsung. This is seems to be the first step towards the return of Apple-Samsung saga in Australia that is to culminate in a lawsuit to be heard in March 2012.

What do you say about this intense lawsuit covering 278 patents? Post your comments.

Are you a businessman trying to finalize the deal with several businessmen at the same time? You should keep a track of what deals are final, what are pending and what are ready go through implementation.

Now, at your finger tips, you can easily keep a track of these things.

Cremebits has created a new app to suit your needs and requirements to keep a track. In Lead Tracker – Manage Your Contacts, you create Leads to keep a track of everything about your potential business partners at your fingertips. Cremebits create apps to ease your work and this Lead Tracker makes this process easy and hassle free.

Creating a Lead is as simple as creating a profile on a social networking website like Facebook.

For example, I am about to finalize a deal with Apple Inc. I create a Lead with Apple’s contact details and website. The status of that Lead will be “New”. I will contact Apple and if Apple agrees to do business with me, the status of Lead would be “Won”. Suppose Apple says that they will get back to me, then the status will be “Hold” and if the deal is called off, the status will be “Lost”.

Now I approach Microsoft with a deal and create a lead about it in my iPhone. Suppose, Microsoft agrees to do business with me. Then the status of Microsoft Lead is “Won”.

The Lead Tracker can also show you Company Reports, Monthly reports and Conversations.

This app is useful not just for businessmen, but also for others. You maybe freelance web designer or an IT consultant in a company. In that case, you can use this app as your lead manager. Not only you will save time and money, you will also get better response from your clients, automatically!

Now let us have a look at the features that Lead Tracker – Manage Your Contacts has to offer:

1. In Lead Tracker, it is easy to feed in leads as they come.

2. Lead Tracker offers a grid eye view. You can see all leads in one view.

3. You can sort Leads by Month, Company & Status and view them accordingly. Lead Tracker can show you how much money can earn from each client (or prospective business partner) and what is the total amount of money you will earn in a month, should you continue working with this person or company.

4. Lead Tracker can show the conversion data in the form of a Pie Chart.

5. Lead Tracker can show the value of all your Leads in the form of a line graph.

If you view your Leads on the basis of money that you earn from clients, then in the Top 3 Leads, you will see the Lead about the deal that gets you maximum amount of money.

Compatibility:
Lead Tracker – Manage Your Contacts is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It requires iOS 4.3 or leader version.

So now, keep a track of all deals and clients is easy. Simple as breathing! Are you happy? Tell me how easy your task is with this app.

Click here to download Lead Tracker Manage Your Contacts.

Digitimes is back with gossip about Apple and this time it is about the rumored TV set that Apple might be manufacturing. Seems like they chose a good time to circulate their rumor as the rumor of Apple buying TV components from a major supplier is still going strong.

Will it come in 2012 or not? Nobody knows as Apple is not even acknowledging whether they have plans to make such device.

According to a report by randomly accurate technology news website Digitimes, it appears highly unlikely that Apple will release its rumored integrated Apple TV set in the second quarter of 2012. Industry sources claim that Sharp is not in a position to ship the Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) panels that are required by Apple.

Apple reportedly has sought to source IGZO panels from Sharp for the production of iTVs as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, which unveiled their 55-inch Super OLED and AMOLED TV models, respectively, at CES, both have regarded OLED TVs are their killer products for 2012, and therefore the two Korea-based companies are unlikely to share OLED panel production capacities with Apple.

Digitimes has claimed that Sharp are able to produce 32, 46 and even 55-inch panels at the moment. However, yield rates in this course of action are still the major concern.

Plug-Ins & Zooming

Please test interaction with plug-ins and the appearance of plug-in content while zooming. Please test zooming using gestures and keyboard shortcuts.

Printing PDFs

Please test printing PDFs loaded into Safari as well as PDFs displayed in iframes. Using PDFs Printed from Webpages

Please test links in PDFs created from webpages using Safari 5.1.4.

The more Samsung is losing against Apple in courts, more its frustration is building up.

And Samsung is taking out that frustration against Apple by poking fun at Apple products and Apple fanboys on its online portals and TV advertisements.

In less than a week after poking fun at Apple with Urban Camping commercial, Samsung has ridiculed Apple Fanboys again.

You might have heard Samsung is spending a huge amount of money to have a TV commercial air during the next Super Bowl. They are very excited about this are bragging about it all over the web, just like a high school girl who scored a prom date with the star quarterback or high school boy who is dating the popular girl in school or the head cheerleader of school football team.

In a lame attempt to generate buzz prior to the big day, Samsung has released a teaser that, as usual, pokes fun at Apple fanboys for standing in line to get the new iPhone. Of course, Samsung would not have such a problem since no one actually ever had to get in line to buy a Samsung phone.

Here is the commercial:

Do you find this advertisement repetitive? Tell us how do you compare this advertisement with previous Samsung advertisements that poke fun at Apple.

This update will fix authentication when using Kerberos, or when logging in as a user with no password. It will also fix problems controlling a remote computer with two displays, when the primary display is on the right.

Few weeks ago, Apple and its partner Foxconn had been accused of forcing workers in their factories located in China to work in inhuman conditions.

Apple CEO Tim Cook asserted that Apple cared about its employees all over the world.

Possibly, reacting to that, SumOfUs has launched an online petition, urging Apple to create the iPhone 5 in a fully ethical manner. So far, the petition has garnered over 40,000 signatures. This petition is particularly critical of Apple’s use of n-hexane, a harmful glass cleaner which can cause neurological damage over long-term exposure. The petition also questions “Inhumanely-long working hours” for workers in the factories.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is adamant that the company is doing its best to ensure the well-being of manufacturing employees abroad. Even within the fast-paced technology sector, however, Apple is well-known for cultivating a high-stress culture. Those standards are imposed on just about everybody Apple works with. Under these conditions, the basic humanitarian standards taking a back seat to ship a product is somewhat understandable.

The petition can be signed here.

Do you think that such petition can make Apple improve the working conditions of workers.

After a hiatus of almost two weeks, iPad 3 rumors are back. This time with the rumor of A6 Chip.

According to online reports, the iPad 3 could be coming packed with a quad-core A6 chipset and support LTE speeds. The source who leaked this information claimed to have access to the unannounced, unreleased device.

Apple has not even announced the official name of upcoming iPad. Nor they have fixed any date for release.

BGR reported:

From the data in the photos, which contain the output from an iPad 3 using a development and debug tool called iBoot, we can infer plenty of information about the upcoming iPad 3. [...] The new processor will also apparently be a quad-core model, making the upcoming iPad 3 the fastest iOS device ever, we have been told.

The veracity of the data is, of course, uncertain. In past, there have been rumors, claiming that the production of iPad 3 has started. Foxconn is also issuing plans to build five new iPad production facilities in Brazil.

The A6 chipset has been noted in the debug tool. If accurate, this chipset carries a model number of S5L8945X with the iPad units themselves carrying model numbers of J1 and J2 (iPad 3,1 and iPad 3.2 respectively). This falls in line with what was uncovered in iOS 5.1 beta code. This rumor has called for one model being WiFi-only, and the other model adding full support for LTE/CDMA/GSM. This is likely to allow for Apple to release just one SKU across data-equipped iPad units for all major carriers, instead of a special LTE model for the limited markets that currently support it.

The latest rumor speculates that the iPad 3 will be released in March 2012. However, nothing can be said for sure, until an announcement comes from Apple.

We want to remind our readers that this case should not be mistaken for the recent case, where the German court upheld an injunction won by Apple against the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the first version of the device Samsung took to market in Germany. Apple had won an injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on the basis of a community patent (roughly similar to a design patent in the U.S.) that Apple asserted against the device.

Galaxy Tab 10.1N is different from Galaxy Tab 10.1. Samsung had responded to loss in the court battle of 2011 by releasing a variation on the device called the Galaxy Tab 10.1N. That variation was intended to differentiate the Samsung tablet enough from Apple’s iPad and ensure that it to no longer infringe on Apple’s community patent. This is what has got Samsung victory in this case.

Patent surrounding Galaxy Tab 10.1N is completely unrelated to the community patent or the Galaxy Tab 10.1. According to Bloomberg, “Apple was asserting a patent granted last year protecting technology related to touch screens for tablets and smartphones.”

Commenting on the ruling at FOSS Patents, patent watcher Florian Mueller said that preliminary injunctions were based on complicated and highly technical patents that are rare in Germany. In this case, however, not only the prelim request was rejected, the courts made it clear they did not expect Apple’s patent to stand up to Samsung’s defense.

Apple and Samsung have been fighting against each other in courts ever since, Galaxy Tab was banned in Australia last year. Their feud spread over Europe and North America where both accused each other of copyright infringement.

In late November 2011, an Australian court quashed the ban and allowed the sales of Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. However, the controversial tablet was released after 9 December 2011 because Apple had obtained a stay order on the implementation of verdict lifting the ban. Later, Apple’s plea for more extension on the ban was rejected.

In March 2012, Australia will be the center-stage of Apple-Samsung saga, once again.

In Truman Show, Jim Carrey did not know that city that he was living in was a big stage and there were cameras everywhere. Whatever he did was being seen on TV by yet whole world.

Now there is an iPhone bug that may not be able to show you your actions to the world but all your private conversations will certainly go public due to this bug. Never abuse your boss in a private conversation. What if your iMessage is leaked and your boss sees it.

This iMessage bug, under the wrong circumstances, might result in your messages being seen by others. This bug is menace but the only good thing about this bug is that it is impartial and works 2-way. It may show you someone else’s messages. Now you may find out what your friends or girlfriend or boyfriend really thinks about you. This is not a new issue. Ars Technica had reported on this issue in December with stolen iPhones, and this is an ongoing problem.

This strange behavior is most likely linked to Apple retaining the UDID of older phones in its database. The theory is that when a new UDID from a replacement device is linked to an Apple ID, the old identifier is not being removed. In the scenario discussed by online portals like Gizmodo, the phone involved is owned by a minor who is now seeing iMessages that an Apple retail employee is sending to friends and loved ones. And this happens without the employee being aware. Gizmodo believes that when the minor’s iPhone was taken to the Apple Store for repair, the employee swapped his SIM card 9which is not a standard practice) with the phone being repaired, which is enough to cause this issue.

Gizmodo pasted the iMessage of an Apple employee on its website to draw the attention of people towards this problem. Gizmodo also petted the pictures of that employee, blurring his face and name. However, enough details were there to find out who that person is. Gizmodo is facing criticism due to this act.

Are you careful about your iMessages in your iPhone? Have you experienced anything like this? Post your comments.

You can also share your views about this issue on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

If you have already jailbroken on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1 on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2, then there is no need to re-jailbreak with the latest update. This update seems to address issues with the process itself opposed with issues on board the device.

In December 2011, a Chinese court had rejected Apple’s ownership of the iPad trademark in China in favor of Proview International, a large but relatively unknown Chinese monitor company.

Now Apple is appealing against that ruling, asking the courts to transfer the iPad trademark to it. Apple Inc is also asking for Proview to pay 4 million yuan as compensation for legal fees that have accrued.

Apple’s original lawsuit against the Proview noted that a Proview subsidiary in Taiwan had sold the iPad trademark rights to “IP Applications,” a UK-based company. Later, IP Applications sold the trademark rights to Apple in 2010. In December, a court in Shenzen, China ruled that the transfer of trademark rights was only done through the Taiwan subsidiary. The main corporation (also located in Shenzhen) was not in attendance at the trademark negotiations in Taiwan. Thus, the Chinese court stated that Proview did not formally transfer any trademark rights to Apple.

Apple’s new appeal has claimed that the Taiwanese subsidiary was acting as a representative for Proview’s mainland operations. On the other hand, Proview is saying that it has no such relationship with the Taiwan subsidiary and was never in talks with Apple about transferring the iPad trademarks.

It would be in Apple’s best interest to win the appeal and Apple must win. Proview has already filed a pair of lawsuits in Chinese courts against Apple and another vendor – Gome Electronics. Proview wants them to stop selling tablets using the iPad name.

Apple Fanboys in Pasadena have a reason to smile. Their good old favorite retail store is coming back.

Apple has issued a notice that Old Pasadena retail district is re-opening this weekend, after an almost yearlong expansion project. The company even opened a temporary store a little bit down the street from the location. Apple is working to expand the main store, adding a second level and lots more space for showing off Apple’s products.

The store will reopen this Saturday at 10 AM. The people will be able to see how spacious it has become now. Apple has also said that the first 1000 customers to the revamped location will pick up a commemorative t-shirt. If you want one of those shirts, better be early to arrive there on Saturday.

The original Pasadena store dates back to 2003. It is one of the oldest Apple stores in California, possibly one of Apple’s most important locations.

What will you buy from this store? Post your comments.

In December 2011, Apple had been accused of misleading customers in Italy and it faced fine for that. Apple claimed to be complying with all Italian laws and appealed against the verdict.

Now it seems that good luck is still evading Apple in this regard.

Apple has apparently complied with a recent ruling by the Italian government that it did not do enough, when selling its extended one-year warranties in stores, to let customers know that its products already came with a two-year warranty, as per consumer laws in Italy. Apple has posted an official message on its website in Italy, designated a “Communication to Protect Customers”. This message outlines exactly what rights customers have to that two-year warranty, and that the Apple Store pushed its paid warranty onto customers anyway.

At this moment, it is not known whether Apple Inc will pay the around $1.2 million fine that Italian authorities have levied against the company for “misleading customers”. This notice could be Apple trying to get out of paying the actual money. So far there is no indication that fines have been paid. Nor there are any indications signifying whether the company has changed its tactics in Italian stores.

For past few weeks, Apple had been releasing builds of Mac OS X Lion version 10.7.3, to various developers. Now the new OS X is available for public.

Apple released updated Mac OS X “Lion” to version 10.7.3 on Wednesday, 1 February 2012, to the public. This update includes several bug fixes and changes to Lion’s Directory Services. The update also includes Safari 5.1.3, which itself includes bug fixes. It seems that Safari update apparently requires Mac OS X 10.7.3, because it is not being offered as a separate download.

Following are the changes and features in the new update:

The OS X Lion v10.7.3 Update includes Safari 5.1.3 and fixes that:

* Add Catalan, Croatian, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, and Ukrainian language support
* Address issues when using smart cards to log into OS X
*Address compatibility issues with Microsoft Windows file sharing
*Address an issue printing Microsoft Word documents that use markup
*Address a graphics performance issue after sleep on some earlier iMacs that use ATI graphics
*Resolve a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep
*Address an issue that may prevent Safari from opening before joining a wireless network
*Fix a potential issue authenticating to an SMB DFS share
*Include RAW image compatibility for additional digital cameras

There are also several changes to Directory Services in the update, including:

*Improve binding to read-only Active Directory Domain Controllers
*Improve binding and login speed for Active Directory users in a domain whose name ends in “.local”
*Improve reliability of Dynamic DNS (DDNS) updates by Active Directory clients
*Allow login with an Active Directory username that contains a space
*Improve compatibility with Active Directory schemas that have been extended with the “apple-user-homeDirectory” and “apple-user-homeurl” attributes
*Fix home directory Dock item for Active Directory users with mobile accounts
*Allow NIS users with MD5-hashed passwords to log in

You can find the update in Software Update and download it. Its size is 730.6MB.

The standalone download is 997.01 MB. If you download the combo updater, the size would be 1.2 GB.

Mac 10.7.3 Server is a 1GB download. The size of combo updater for Lion Server is 1.34 GB.

An update for Server Admin Tools 10.7.3 is also available. Its size is 202.59 MB download.

Recording artist Neil Young has revealed in an interview that once Apple had plans to launch a High-Definition (HD) music format that never came to fruition.

Young said that he had met Steve Jobs personally to discuss the service prior to his (Jobs’) demise, but “not much” happened with it in the end.

In the interview with All Things D, Young revealed that he approached Apple, and specifically Steve Jobs, about the HD music service, which he believed would have certainly happened had Steve not passed away:

When asked if Young had approached Apple about the idea, Young said that he had, in fact, met with Jobs and was “working on it,” but that “not much” ended up happening to the pursuit.

Of note, Young made mention that Jobs was a vinyl fan, despite having helmed the company that would spearhead the way people listened to and purchased digital music.

“Steve Jobs was a pioneer of digital music, and his legacy is tremendous,” Young told the crowd. “But when he went home, he listened to vinyl. And you’ve got to believe that if he’d lived long enough, he would have done what I’m trying to do.”

Young said that MP3 files only had around “5 percent of the data present in the original recording,”. He was concerned that there was no HD format available to consumers. Young acknowledged that HD music would make for much larger music files.

Tracks currently purchased through Apple’s iTunes music store are at a quality of 256 kbps, in the AAC format. Apple does offer a higher quality that is a lossless audio format. It is compatible with the iPhone and the iPod. However, these files are significantly larger than standard AAC files.

On the basis of Young’s interview, it seems that the plans Apple did have to introduce HD music are no longer being worked on.

It even made an appearance in Disk Utility in a beta of Mac OS X 10.5. ZFS support was never included in Leopard. However, it was also initially hinted in Snow Leopard Server documentation in 2008 before the final public release.

In 2009, Apple had seemingly ceased all work on ZFS. According to a 2011 Ars Technica article profiling, an Apple engineer named Don Brady who worked on the ZFS team at Apple until 2009, “Apple couldn’t reach suitable license terms with Sun” at the time, and Brady eventually left to form his own company in 2010 called Ten’s Complement. Two years later, Brady and Ten’s Complement are set to bring ZFS support to Mac OS X with the company’s latest project, ZEVO Silver Edition.

The Silver Edition is just the first product from Ten’s Complement. It includes basic ZFS support for $19.95. Other products will follow including a $40 Gold Edition and a Platinum Edition with support for RAIDZ and other advanced features. A Developer Edition will provide devs with “conventional ZFS command line tools,” Graphical User Interface (GUI) options, and customization options. According to online reports, the MacZFS open source project is also continuing development on the original work done by Sun and Apple.

Later, a RedSn0w jailbreak tweak came to fix DRM issues with the Corona Jailbreak.

Now there is more good news for those who are using this untethered jailbreak tweak.

Shortly after, after the jailbreak tweak was updated to fix the DRM issues in iBooks, famous hacker Saurik tweeted that the untether has been updated yet again. This time the update aimed to resolve problems with the iPhone 4S running iOS 5.

If you have any problems with iBooks on your jailbroken device, you can install Corona directly from Cydia. If you have already installed Corona, you can just update it via Cydia.

Few months ago, there were reports that Apple maybe planning to manufacture and launch TV Sets. Now the latest news report adds more fuel to fire. We want to make it clear that this context is not about Apple TV, the set-top-box and media player. This is about an actual TV set that Apple is rumored to be intending to manufacture.

If an analyst from Piper Jaffray (PJ) is to be believed, Apple has contacted a major supplier about television display components.

Gene Munster, of PJ, told investors on Tuesday, 31 January 2012, that during talks with a “major TV component supplier” about Apple’s rumored HDTV, the supplier told Jaffray that Apple had reached out “regarding various capabilities of their television display components.”

Munster viewed this scoop as “continued evidence” of Apple’s exploration into television production. However, this seems to be far from concrete evidence that Apple will be releasing a television set soon. Munster acknowledged this citing the rumored roadblocks Apple has faced securing content from studios. It seems logical that Apple would secure distribution deals before ramping up production on an Apple HDTV. It does not make any sense to put something to market with nothing to show on it.

However, PJ predicts that if Apple did release a television set this year, it could sell 1.4 million of the projected 106 million internet-connected televisions to be sold during the year. Munster seems to know more than his parent company PJ, noting that Apple only enters mature markets to reinvent them. However, PJ is still making revenue estimates for 2012-2014 on a device that does not exist.

If and when Apple enters the HDTV market, Apple is likely to blind side current HDTV manufacturers and surprise a number of content providers as well. Apple would never release a TV with no content, but if their vision is to provide customized channel lineups for users, they are negotiating licensing deals that are needed to support a feature like that has no pricing precedent.
