Apple has today released an update to iWork ‘09. The update fixes a number of minor issues and improves some specific areas in the software, included:
- 1- Reducing file size of images that have Instant Alpha applied
2- Managing file size when inserting some movies
3- Working with dates and durations in the Chart Data Editor in Keynote and Pages
4- Exporting to CSV from Numbers when using table categories
5- Improvements to comment notification in iWork.com Beta
6- Security in iWork.com Beta
iWork.com improvements
Besides the improvements to iWork, Apple also has improved iWork.com which still remains in Beta-version. The improvement includes, as you can see above, security to the shared documents on iWork.com. You can now protect your documents with a password, by selecting “privacy” in the Publish window, and enter the password you want, or you can let the OS X Password Assistant create one for you. Since it’s now required to enter a password to get access to the document, it’s recommended to share the password to the people you want to share the document with .
Another improvement to iWork.com is the comment notifications. When a friends or proofreader of you document lefts a comment, iWork.com will now let you know by sending you an e-mail notification, and you can chose by yourself how often you want to receive one of those e-mails.
