Apple has a different kind of charm for the color white. Divine white has always enhanced the beauty of its products. It makes you irresistible, it makes you crazy and finally it tests your patience if you have planned to buy a white iPhone.

I’ll tell you my story with the color white when I got my 3GS, I was all prepared for a white 3GS, got up on a sunday to grab one, excessively delighted because my 3G was a black one. Now the peak of the whole thing, When I reach the store I get to know, “Mam, We are sorry, white is out if stock.”

Crap! this is because I had reached the store sometime in afternoon and it was out of stock in the morning time. So, finally I ended up buying a black 3GS.

Hope this doesn’t happen to me this time. Nevertheless, I am all prepared to remain extra patient and calm until I get a white one. I am thankful to the official statement released which has made the picture clear about the supply of white iPhones.

For those who are new to iPhone jailbreaking, it is not uncommon you will have the following questions in your mind:

Can my iPhone 3GS be unlocked?

What tool should I use to unlock my iPhone? blacksn0w or ultrasn0w?

What’s the bootloader version of my iPhone?

How can I know if my iPhone is tethered or untethered jailbreak?
With various jailbreaking tools and firmware available, the developers from iH8sn0w.com have come up with a great tool called f0recast that helps answer the above jailbreaking-related questions.

F0recast is a free tool that will check your iPhone and iPod touch to determine whether it is tethered, or unlockable (for iPhone only). The tool also show your iPhone’s serial number, boot loader version and model. If your iPhone is unlockable, F0recast also advises the corresponding unlock tool (e.g. blacksn0w).

The tool only works on Microsoft Windows and requires to have .NET framework 2.0, as well as, iTunes 9.0 (or up) installed. To use the tool, simply launch it and connect your iPhone via USB. The F0recast app instantly shows you the jailbreaking-related info.

I\To download, you can check out F0recast at iH8sn0w.com.

Download: Custom Custom Firmware 3.1 For iPhone 3Gs

Yesterday the iPhone DevTeam released the latest version of PwnageTool. Unfortunately it is still for Mac users only. Here you can download custom 3.1 firmwares for your 3Gs, but read the rules before downloading.

First thing you need to do is to jailbreak your iPhone 3Gs using firmware 3.0 or 3.0.1. If you are on 3.1 , you need to downgrade (if you can) otherwise jailbreak for OS 3.1 WILL NOT WORK!

The iPhone 3Gs is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the phone was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 – PwnageTool does not support the 3Gs out of the box. If your iPhone 3Gs has 3.1 preinstalled and is not Pwned then there is no tested jailbreak solution at the moment.

Q: Why there is a 500 MB custom firmware and a 1 GB custom firmware? What’s the difference?
A: The amount of apps you can install is greater on the 1GB version, the amount of music etc you can use is greater on a 500MB version.

Q: What’s the difference between activated and unactivated custom firmware? Which one should i use?
A: If you use offical carrier then you should use the UNACTIVATED custom firmware. If you are using other sim cards ( not the official carrier sim cards ) should use the ACTIVATED custom firmware

Q: Great, Rapidshare again?!?!?
A: Just stop bitching about it….

Q: Ok , i downloaded the custom firmware, now what?
A: Connect your iPhone, open iTunes and hit Shift+Restore. Browse for your custom firmware that you just downloaded and restore your iPhone with it. Thats it.
