Apple Bluetooth

Battery is an important part of every electronic device. It drives your device and once it is drained, you go through the hassle of recharging it or replacing it, wishing your battery had a longer life.

This may soon be a reality. Apple are investigating methods and possibilities that can enable users to power-off Bluetooth enabled devices by pushing just one button on one device to configure or disable many other devices.

Apple planned to publish a new patent that has been entitled as “Automatic Power-Off of Bluetooth Device from Linked Device”. Apple plans that the system should be such the user would turn off one device and other devices connected to it would get turned off on their own. This would conserve the life and energy of battery and save users from the worry of remembering to turn of devices after use.

Many times people make calls from devices like Bluetooth enabled headset. Often they forget to turn it off after the call is over. This creates pressure on battery and drains it fast. With Automatic power off, this would not be the case. If launched, Automatic off would save not only the battery of device but also the time of the user.

So are you ready to for “Automatic Off” and battery longevity? Discuss your ideas about Automatic Off in the comments section below.

You are worried about your battery expansion for your iPhone 4, you needn’t worry anymore. The old favorite of Apple Morphie is back to rescue you and your iPhone.
Morphie has designed an accessory to extend battery option. It has come up with the seventh version Juice Pack Air exclusively for the iPhone 4 and this accessory maker is the first ever to work with Apple for battery pack.
The redesigned extended-battery-slash-case offers a 1500 mAh battery (the iPhone 4’s built-in battery is 1420 mAh), which Mophie claims to add up to 6 hours of talk time on 3G, and up to 12 on EDGE, or an extra 36 hours of audio playback, or nine hours of video playback.
It gives the iPhone 4 a little bulge look in the back. It has a soft-touch black back and silver band around the sides, with cut-out areas to expose the iPhone’s various buttons and headphone jack. Mophie moved the four-LED status indicator from the back to the bottom of the pack to make it easier to see without having to pull it out of, say, bag pockets, and the pass-through charging USB port allows you to sync with iTunes while charging either the iPhone’s internal battery or the pack’s extended battery.
The Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 4 is choking about $80 USD only for you.

Touch me not or you catch fire

Apple’s first generation iPod nano music player is said to have problems like overheating and fire, after criticism from the government of Tokyo, Apple’s Japanese unit has offered to replace all the iPods which have problems.

Apple confirmed “very rare cases of overheating” in the battery of the iPod nano sold between September 2005 and December 2006, which distorted the shape of the device or made it unusable, the company said on its Japanese website.

Apple has offered to replace affected units, and concerned customers using the first-generation iPod nano can now get the battery replaced, it said. The company also revealed that the fault had been traced to a particular battery supplier, adding that other iPod nano models had no such recharging problems.

The recharging problems is said to have caused 27 overheating incidents, including six fires, which left four people with minor burns, stated The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The ministry last week said Apple had separately notified it of 34 other “non-serious” overheating accidents related to the device. Apple’s delay in doing so is “truly regrettable” the ministry added. The information regarding the problems were posted on the website including recommending battery replacements. However, the lack of prominence given to the warnings provoked criticism.

Is Apple stuck up with a series of problems?, Let’s refrain from commenting but the issue is about battery back-up this time.

First was the antenna issue, leading the executive in charge Mark Papermaster’s resignation and now it’s the life of the product, the battery.

After the installation of iOS4 into the iPods people have reported problem with the battery back up. They said that they would spend 4-5 days of use on a single charge and now they are getting only about a day’s worth of use.

People agreed that installation of a new operating system can make a fluctuation in the battery usage, but can’t expect the drop to be as low as to 80%.

This problem will have a severe effect on Apple’s networking services; the WiFi usage will be draining more battery. The iPod will not stay in sleep or standby modes with these services enabled, so when put away for the night the device will continue to use WiFi and drain the battery.

So, it’s again a show time for Apple. Fix the problem soon or else the website (http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html) will be flaunting with no big deals with Apple from our side!
