Here, the existing titles craw to get their apps ready for the iTunes store and publishers tiff with Apple over subscriptions but one media mogul is trying an entirely new idea. According to a report at Forbes.com, NesCorp’s Rupert Murdoch is planning the launch of a news tabloid designed expressly for the tablet format. The name of this tab is the Daily Planet.

Former NY Post editors Jesse Angelo and Richard Johnson are already working on the title, which is currently projected to launch in December.

Well it is an interesting concept. Hope “tabloid,” they mean lots of current news and gossip being constantly updated. Readers have become spoiled by the 24/7 coverage provided by blogs like Perez Hilton and news/gossip sites like TMZ and RadarOnline. They aren’t going to be interested in a newspaper that’s static and doesn’t offer the news as it happens—with videos and other interactive features, of course.

The official release for Apple’s latest mobile operating build has been due to next month. Now Apple iOS 4.2 will be available for iPhone and iPod touch, while iPad users will enjoy multitasking, folders, printing and more for the first time.

According to Appleinsider report, quoting people familiar with the latest iOS beta,’ build 8C5115c contains several significant changes, including an updated version of the modem firmware.

It was also reported that iOS 4.2 disables some features present in AirPlay on iOS 4.1, bugs still exist with the beta developer’s note. AirPrint functionality sometimes prints images and documents at the same size of the iPhone screen, rather than full-sized.

17 new SMS ringtones have been added, including Calypso, Choo Choo, Sherwood Forest and Tiptoes, while the Connect to iTunes recovery screen now uses the new CD free iTunes 10 icons.

The update also includes the second beta of iTunes 10.1.

Recently Apple has released the third beta of iOS 4.2 to developers alongside the second beta of iTunes 10.1. This update is a contribution for both the iPhone and the iPad.

According to report, the beta has made significant modifications in an updated version of the modem firmware. However, there are noticeably alterations in beta like AirPlay features from previous builds. The AirPlay button has disappeared from the Photos, Videos, and YouTube apps on the distribution for the iPad.
The developer has also noticed a bug with the AirPrint functionality. When printing from an iPhone, the image sometimes prints as just the size of the iPhone’s screen, not the original image size.

It was also known that beta enhance a number of smaller additions. According to fscklog, the new beta adds “a larger number” of tones (Google Translation) for receiving text messages on the iPhone 4. The 17 new SMS ringtones include tones such as “Calypso,” “Choo Choo,” “Sherwood Forest,” and “Tiptoes.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is running a regulatory session on Apple’s app Store developers agreement. Meanwhile, an interesting turn took up when regulators from European Union joined in.
The whole issue began when Apple in April, adjusted its agreement wording in a way that outright barred developers from using third-party development tools such as Adobe’s Flash Compiler, or in-game engines like Unity 3D.

Further in July made some modifications in the agreements the limited the third parties to glean from inside of application, which posed serious incompatibility for companies like Google’s AdMob from running its business on the iOS platform.

Similar issue did came up years back with Microsoft where it had to change the way it bundled Web browsing software in versions of Windows that were sold in European market and the European Union played a pivotal role.

At this point Apple has to wait for four or six month when these bodies in charge give any official conclusions. Tougher time for Apple though.

According to sources Apple yesterday released iOS4.1 beta3 for developers. Well, one good news is about the latest updates of iOS4.1 beta3 and but the bad news is that after the release there would be removal of Game centre support for the iPhone 3G and also the 2nd generation iPod touch.

Many users have been waiting for Game Center so that they can upgrade their devices since the announcement of iOS4 but unfortunately it seems that Apple is stripping it from older generations iOS devices. Now the users have a doubt whether Game Center happens to be so complicated that it needs the improvement of hardware when switching to different newer devices takes place. let’s not come to conclusions of beta release but hopes that Game Center support comes with newer final updates for iPhone 3G and 2nd generation iPod touch.

Well sorry for presenting a doubt in your mind by asking if Game Center support does come in need for your iPhone 3G, iPod touchG2 and does return to save your devices. Ok fine we discuss a lot about Game centre vanishing from above devices but the final word is: Does it attract you to upgrade your devices?

Well now there’s a similar thing, but for iPhone apps!

Mika Letki and Danilo Yasuno have carefully placed thousand 30 by 30 smiley faced icons on their website ThousandApps.com. After we took notice of this almost half the page was already filled with icons from iPhone App developers. Even some better known apps are promoted on the page like Geared, Tap Forms and Steam, so I guess you could say the iPhone development community has faith in this project.

It might seem crazy and some will say that it’s not going to be successful. But considering the site has only just been created and is already filled quite nicely with all kinds of apps and also considering that you can get a 30 by 30 spot for 5€ (6,30$) they must have made an estimate 3.150 dollars by now, which is not bad for a project that only just started.

As I mentioned above interested developers can still reserve their spot in this interesting and unique project for 5€.

On Tuesday 12 January 2010, Haiti was hit by an earthquake which destroyed the capital Port-au-prince completely, left millions homeless and made more than a hundred thousand deadly victims. The people who are left behind can use all the support they need and therefore the world is coming into action. That includes the independent iPhone developers community and therefore over 60 other iPhone and Mac developers have decided to donate all revenue their apps generate on the 20th of January 2010 to a good cause which is currently aiding the Haitian people.

There are several causes to which app developers are going to donate their revenue. Some include UNICEF, Doctors without borders, …

Small developers don’t make a lot of revenue, but considering there are about 60 involved, you just know that this action will bring in a lot of money for the Haitian people.

So if you decide to buy an App, certainly check out the Indie Relief website and check to see if there isn’t an alternative that will aid Haiti.

Mac OS X 10.6.2 Build 10C540 has just been seeded to developers and contains several fixes, even though it arrives just one week after the otherwise most recent build. To sum it up shortly, the new Snow Leopard build fixes a pretty serious data loss issue, which was first mentioned around the 13th of October. The bug was apparently related to guest accounts, and resulted in loss of huge amounts of data.

Also, the new build contains full native support for the all new Magic Mouse as well as an Airport issue with the new iMac and VMware, which just introduced a new version with improved 3D graphics called VMware Fusion 3. Finally, the new build also contains several minor fixes, such as an Apple TV graphics improvement.

Today, the Apple developer community received another Mac OS 10.6.2 build (10C519f), which addresses major issues such as Core Data, video corruption and a problem which caused System Preferences to freeze.

The optical drive issue noted in the first Mac OS X Snow Leopard build (10C514f) however, does not yet seem to have been fixed. We therefore still advise developers and users to consider this, before they update to the latest build of Mac OS 10.6.2 and start testing it. We expect another build to be seeded soon, as there are still major issues left to be addressed.
