Setting it up and the process can be downloaded along with a user help file is anything goes wrong. The entire process is very fast and can be saved as a screen saver to check if the Mac is locked or unlocked. This saves time of logging in and logging out each time u need to leave the place. But it may be a hindrance for security issues. Otherwise it’s a very useful idea and should give it a try!

According to report, it looks like there’s another iPhone.app defense gap. Here, in iOS 4.1 that allows someone to get around a passcode locked iPhone, gain access to the owner’s contact list, manufacture calls and send emails to anyone in said contact list. From MacStories:

“To reproduce the bug, invent certain to have a passcode lock turned on and lock your device. In the lockscreen, tap on Emergency signal in the lower left corner. Now type a non-existent emergency number, I tried #946494. Start the signal, and as soon as the red button seem hit the sleep button. You’ll be brought to the contact list.”

The issue will most-likely get patched by Apple in the 4.2 update coming later that month, but it’s not the first day the emergency shout screen has been exploited. Both iOS 2.1 and iOS 2.0.2 suffered from passcode lock bugs. Hopefully Apple pays additional attention and really secures Phone.app that day.

Rumors is always a step ahead of Apple and here the latest rumors about new iPad to be out in the first quarter of the coming year, 2011. Digitimes, which is often regarded as a rumor mongerer, does indeed have the right news in technology to grace them.

Is heard that the new device will come with 9.7 inch panels which are being currently tested by the suppliers and the next generation panels can be expected to be much sleeker. Only a few months back the original iPad was released in April this year and the news does seem to have substance.

It was reported that the new iPad will have only a few alterations in the features and we may see it getting furthermore evolved to capture the imagination of the potential buyers. May be a good cut in the total weight could do wonders to its prospects and even a rear-facing camera being integrated to iPad is also high on demand.

According to Glenn Lurie, AT&T’s emerging devices president, doesn’t see any problems with the coming end of the firm’s exclusivity with mobile devices from Apple. Currently the carrier is the sole provider of services for the iPad and iPhone but it seems Lurie doesn’t see the entry of other carriers in the field to be a problem. Lurie reports that they are still going to be plugging along with the kind of rates as of now and the genre of success they having generating today

Lurie sees the tablet computer as the product of the future, one that could make laptops a thing of the past. “You’re going to see those 10-inch pieces of glass become full-on computers,” Lurie stated in an interview this month. The exec also expects a wider range of tablets over the next five years, ranging in price from $300 to $1000

Well that’s a nice prediction Lurie, but for now you can carry an Apple laptop for $1000. For $1000 tablet what kind of features to be worth the price?

These days there are a lot of companies that are creating credit card readers for the iPhone, Square is one of them, they will release a mobile credit card transaction this summer. Nothing special? Well this credit card reader & App will only cost $1.

But there is a catch, for every transaction you make they will bank 2.9% of the transaction. So if you are planning to use this reader for big transactions this is probably not the credit card reader you should use. But if you only use it ones in a while for small transactions this could be very interesting.

The other good thing is that Square will work with any bank account, so you don’t need a special merchant bank account.

The last interesting thing is that they will donate 1 penny to your favourite charity.

The new iPod Touch made device is meant to replace the current checkout devices in all of Apple’s retail stores either shortly before or shortly after New Year. We also believe that Apple is planning to expand the product’s area of availability, and sell it to other businesses which currently rely on “older checkout models”.
