From the appearance it seems like the update of the existing versions to add to the levels. The company always sends updates a few days before to keep their users waiting and curious. Since the name given is Summer Pignic, the theme would be based on summer and so it was assumed that it would be released by end of July.

According to Silicon Valley Insider, Apple Inc. has planned a hush-hush iOS Developer Summit for November 3-5, next week.
According to report, it looks like there’s another iPhone.app defense gap. Here, in iOS 4.1 that allows someone to get around a passcode locked iPhone, gain access to the owner’s contact list, manufacture calls and send emails to anyone in said contact list. From MacStories:

“To reproduce the bug, invent certain to have a passcode lock turned on and lock your device. In the lockscreen, tap on Emergency signal in the lower left corner. Now type a non-existent emergency number, I tried #946494. Start the signal, and as soon as the red button seem hit the sleep button. You’ll be brought to the contact list.”

The issue will most-likely get patched by Apple in the 4.2 update coming later that month, but it’s not the first day the emergency shout screen has been exploited. Both iOS 2.1 and iOS 2.0.2 suffered from passcode lock bugs. Hopefully Apple pays additional attention and really secures Phone.app that day.

According to Appleinsider report, quoting people familiar with the latest iOS beta,’ build 8C5115c contains several significant changes, including an updated version of the modem firmware.

It was also reported that iOS 4.2 disables some features present in AirPlay on iOS 4.1, bugs still exist with the beta developer’s note. AirPrint functionality sometimes prints images and documents at the same size of the iPhone screen, rather than full-sized.

17 new SMS ringtones have been added, including Calypso, Choo Choo, Sherwood Forest and Tiptoes, while the Connect to iTunes recovery screen now uses the new CD free iTunes 10 icons.

The update also includes the second beta of iTunes 10.1.

Just a few hours ago, prominent Chronic Dev Team member Joshua Hill has announced via twitter that “Things have progressed to the point where we don’t expect anymore roadblocks. ETA for greenpois0n is 10/10/10 at 10:10:10AM.” that hotly anticipated Jailbreak should bring another large contingent into the Jailbreaking community as many new iPhone users who have not been able to jailbreak 4.0.2 and 4.1 will now be able to jailbreak their device.
Here the details of the jailbreak, such as whether it will be hitched or how it will be implemented have not been announced. Hope that the information will be out soon.

Greenpois0n update is based on the SHAtter exploit which only works on 4th generation (2010) devices such as iPhone 4, iPad, and the iPod Touch 4.

Today at press event, Facebook has announced a new Groups. This groups aim to make things easier and brand social interaction more communal, data portability which sounds like it takes a little of the wall off Facebook’s garden, and application control, which should let you better decide who gets your data.

Here Mashable’s has got it all:

Groups are closed by default (but can be secret or open) and are designed to be spaces where small groups of friends share information, with each group controlled by the entirety of its members — an important new direction for Facebook. The group chat feature is just as it sounds; members can participate in back-and-forth IM conversations with everyone in the group at the same time.

On the data portability front, Facebook has now made it possible to download all of the content and information that you have added to Facebook. This means that you can download your photos, videos, wall posts, conversation threads and status updates.

Ultimately the Facebook update is available in US and for the other users around the globe has to wait. Only thing we can do now is to patiently wait for the announcement. May the update is on the way and when reach will proclaim the news.

All cheers for the Food lovers as Gourmet Magazine publication is bringing an interactive iPad app with a plateful of new features. Hope this news can brighten the mood of the foodies who had been mourning at the pull out of the app last time.

With the popularity of the app, Condé Nast has pulled on its long-running Gourmet Magazine in 2009, readers felt a personal loss, but now everything that made the good cook’s bible great is back, along with some new twists for the digital age. On wednesday, Gourmet Live made its debut at the App Store, featuring content from the print issues ranging from 1941 until last year, plus recipes, articles and videos.

Well there is difference in the app from last to latest edition. There is an addition of Facebook and Twitter, which give users the opportunity to win “rewards” for checking into the social networks.

Moreover, there is also a content customized for the user’s location, as well as material shared with the blogs Eater and Serious Eats. What you are waiting for now get your Gourmet Live fix for free at the App Store.

According to Google’s blog suggest that Google Docs is coming soon to the iPad within a few weeks. Well this new app can take another step forward for Apple’s device in taking into the future of cloud computing. Google Docs on the iPad will allow users to read, edit and store files in their Google accounts. For now, we can it is a much welcomed feature as there is no other comparable app that performs the same.

Lets’ look at Google’s blog:

Second, today we demonstrated new mobile editing capabilities for Google Docs on the Android platform and the iPad. In the next few weeks, co-workers around the world will soon be able to co-edit files simultaneously from an even wider array of devices.

The Google Docs on iPad will allow user to access to browser-based rather than app-based, but given the state of the art in mobile browsers like Safari, Dolphin, and Skyfire all provide great experiences.

The latest update from Apple shows the released of beta version of the iOS 4.2 software to developers. It seems the final version of the operating system is expected to be made available to all iPad users in November.

Earlier this month, Steve Jobs unveiled details of the iOS 4.2 update at Apple’s music. He said that the update would bring some of the features previously only available on the iPhone and iPod touch to the popular iPad.
Now we got the iOS 4.2 update which brings folders to the iPad, allowing users to organise up to 20 similarly-themed apps in to single named folders. Even iPhone and iPod touch users can only have 12 apps in a folder.

Launched on Monday, Live Messenger 1.1, Microsoft has speed up its Windows Live Messenger iPhone app with a few new features.

The app allows the user to switch Facebook account directly into Messenger. Also it provide a view updates from and chat with your Facebook friends and update your own profile. Through your Windows Live Service account page, Microsoft gives you some control over the Facebook integration

The Live Messenger 1.1 brings about the fast switching feature introduced in Apple’s iOS 4 that means you can pause the app to do something else and then quickly return to it without having to launch it from scratch. The app is very user friendly as it now supports 31 different languages, including Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Turkish.

The 1.1 update is the first refinements that Microsoft has made to Live Messenger for the iPhone since the app’s debut in June.

According to Microsoft they have released nine security bulletins, four of which include a maximum rating of critical, addressing a total of 13 vulnerabilities. It was also known that several of these are serious but are important mitigating factors on them. The users of the most recent products (especially Windows 7 and Office 2010) are least affected

It was reported that only four critical bugs is vulnerability in a print spooler service and that could allow remote code execution. Microsoft said that this vulnerability is already being exploited in the wild, but there are some important mitigating factors. The second vulnerability affects the MPEG-4 codec.

Earlier the Outlook versions 2002, 2003, and 2007 (not 2010) are vulnerable to compromise by a malicious e-mail message when connected to an Exchange Server in Online mode.

Is not long ago when Apple has announce the news regarding about allowing third-party developer tools for iOS and Adobe is already busy updating product plans. Adobe has already inform the developers that they have plan to resume work on Packager for iPhone. Well this is one feature we are talking about the part of the Flash Professional CS5 authoring tool. The company allows developers to easily move their Flash based apps over to iOS devices.

Moreover, the Packager is already available in the current release of CS5 and several developers let known to Adobe that their newly submitted Packager apps are being approved by Apple.

Earlier this year, Adobe has abandoned work on the Packager when Apple implemented a policy blocking third-party developer tools. Now the Apple’s change of policy is great news for Adobe and Flash developers as they now have an easy way to port their applications from Flash to iOS based devices like the iPad and iPhone. Well thank you for that Adode.

The news about the VLC video player coming to iPad was first reported by Mac4Ever. The VLC was been ported to the iPad by Applidium with the support of the VideoLan team. The app is currently in submission with Apple and is awaiting for approval.

They even added that they will release the current working project when the app will hit the AppStore. Moreover, they are planning to launch the VLC for iPad next week if everything goes well.

Well no doubt that VLC (Video Lan Client) is a very popular open source media player for the Mac and other platforms and one of its strengths is the ability to play a wide variety of video formats (chart) and streaming support.
For now I think we should all expect the iPad release as early as next week. Keep reading, will update you soon.

It seems like only yesterday Steve Jobs introduced make-your-own ringtones in iTunes, where you could take a song you already bought and pay again just to use it in cut-down scheme as a ringtone and now it’s gone from iTunes.

Well for the recording industry is no doubt to blame for the $0.99 price tag but they manage to both charge consumers and stiff artists on those, keeping all the money for themselves and now may, their might be a few users for whom the ease of use was worth the price.
Anyhow you can still roll your own ringtones outside iTunes or purchase them pre-made by Apple (though reader John shows you may be subjected to a humorous iOS downgrade image, after the break).
To be frank, till now I had not use the ringtone creator so I won’t grieve for it,but surely someone is going to miss it.

We all know iOS 4 is the world’s most advanced mobile operating system and very soon iPad owners will get to enjoy its 100+ new features and innovations including multitasking, folders, printing and more. Users can look forward for iOS 4.2 coming in November for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

Multitasking

Run all your favorite apps — and switch between them instantly — without slowing down the performance of the foreground app or draining the battery unnecessarily.

Folders

Organize apps into folders with drag-and-drop simplicity. Get faster access to your favorites and browse and manage thousands of apps.

Printing

Print mail, photos, web pages, and more directly to a printer on a wireless network.

AirPlay

Wirelessly stream videos, music, and photos from iPad to the new Apple TV, and stream music to AirPlay speakers or receivers, including AirPort Express.

This morning is really an update day. First came the iWork 9.0.4 update and now with another one again from Apple. If you have a 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro mid 2010 models you can use the update version of MacBook Pro EFI Firmware 1.9 released on yesterday.

This updates was done keeping in mind to resolves rare issue that may cause the system to freeze during startup or intermittently stall during operation, and it improves compatibility with external displays.

The MacBook Pro EFI Update will update the EFI firmware on your MacBook Pro. Your computer’s power cord must be connected and plugged into a working power source. When your MacBook Pro restarts a gray screen will appear with a status bar to indicate the progress of the update. It will take several minutes for the update to complete.

Your Mac will run in a smooth way if you update it with the EFI Firmware and can continue working without any interruptions.

If you want the MacBook Pro EFI Firmware it’s available via Software Update and also as a standalone installer.

So free your Mac from all hurdles, the defender is here.

Thanks, MacDailyNews.com

We all remember of those rumors about $0.99 iTunes TV show rentals and now they’re back. Rumors are going on that FOX-owner Newcorp is in “advanced talks” by the service and also CBS and Disney (which have Steve Jobs as their largest shareholder) are plus rumored to be involved.

According to Bloomberg Apple originally wanted to offer subscription a la carte TV, but unfortunately it failed due to networks not wanting to put their relationships with cable companies in jeopardy.

Rentals would last 48hrs and would bring even more subject matter to the newly launched iPad and iPhone and upcoming iPod touch 4.

While a la cart TV exists outside the US (I pay $20 for 20 a la carte channels on my provider) it hasn’t been adopted by existing American providers. Would $0.99 rentals be a good alternative? Just one show a day would average $30 a month, so even whether it’s a step in the right direction, it’s a tiny little hesitant one. We should wait for the day when consumers can decide what we want, when we want, where we want and how much to pay? Before that, in the meantime let’s stick to original menu.

Google has a smart update ready for users of their Finance web app and while it won’t work on iOS. We are certain that many in the US will appreciate the new Google Voice integration with Gmail as well.

There is good news for the users that calls to the U.S. and Canada will be free for at least the rest of the year and calls to other countries will be billed at our very low rates. The company has worked hard to make these rates really cheap with calls to the U.K., France, Germany, China, Japan and many more countries for as little as $0.02 per minute.

If you have a Google Voice phone number, calls made from Gmail will display this number as the outbound caller ID. And if you decide to, you can receive calls made to this number right inside Gmail.

The newly launched Android/iPhone edition of Google Finance for mobile has a dignified design which gives you a cohesive experience across desktop and Android or iPhone phones, offering nearly all the same features and functionality on both. Even you can easily access the new site when you do a Google search for stock tickers or company names on your mobile device or when you tap the “Finance” tab on the Google mobile homepage.

Facebook promised to fix login for iPhone users and here is the promise, the new Facebook 3.2.2 for iPhone.

They claim it fixes the login issue, which seems to have been primarily caused by conflicts with some Jailbreak apps. Again the problem is that it is only available for users in the US at the moment. They have confirmed that they are working on making this available in other countries soon. Please do so.
